Including the DC museums and monuments
We’ve both always wanted to explore all the national monuments and museums in the DC area but had never been before. We stopped here for a short two weeks and jam packed in everything we could.
We loved exploring all the museums, especially the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and the National Gallery of Art.
We were here for the 4th of July which was hectic but fun to be a part of. We went to the 4th of July parade and fireworks.

This is the theater where Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. There’s now a museum here and a short play explaining the events of the day.
This is a museum that houses a bunch of historically significant documents, most notably the Declaration of Independence.
Another classic American museum, this is a fascinating museum all about air and space history. Unfortunately more than half of it was closed when we were here so we didn’t get the full effect!
Rock Creek Park is a designated nature park in the center of Washington DC. It was fun to get out nature while still being engulfed in the city.
A truly amazing architectural building full of beautiful mosaics and stained glass.
Our nation’s most impressive phallic monument. We rode the elevator to the top which provided amazing views of the area in all directions.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Korean War Memorial are right out front of the Lincoln Memorial.
Very harrowing and well worth the visit.
This is where Nicholas Cage found the Book of Secrets which pointed him to the next clue to the treasure.
We participated in DC’s 4th of July festivities which included a parade and fireworks. It was quite hot and humid out but ‘Murica!
These steps were featured in the movie “The Exorcist”, which isn’t our favorite movie of all time but the steps were cool!
Trevor visited Fort Reno which is DC’s highest point.

We stopped in Philadelphia for a weekend on our way from DC to New York. The main things we saw were Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and the Rocky steps.
