Waterfalls, forests and beaches

Portland has been one of our favorite cities and urban areas that we’ve visited. Our Airbnb was in the Arbor Lodge neighborhood of Portland and we loved the area.

Our main focus while here was to visit all the iconic waterfalls in the area, including Trail of Ten Falls, Multnomah Falls, Lautourell Falls, Ramona Falls, Tamanawas Falls, and many more. We also ventured over to the coast to visit iconic beach spots such as Seaside and Canon Beach.

We did quite a bit of city things as well, going to the Japanese garden, the zoo, the rose garden, the downtown scene, the tulip festival, etc.

We also loved the community in Portland, particularly the skate park community was vibrant and full of rad people. Portland has been one of Natalie’s favorite overall destinations.

Waterfalls & Adventures

We of course went on a bunch of waterfall hikes while we were here, including Multnomah Falls, Latourell Falls, Tamanawas Falls, Ramona Falls, Trillium Falls, Abiqua Falls, and Trail of Ten Falls, among other hikes and adventures.

We ventured over to Hug Point State Recreation Site one weekend, which was an amazing coastal Oregon beach.

We stopped in Cape Meares State Park near Tillamook on our way up to Portland which as this interesting "Octopus Tree"

City Activities

Portland is a super fun city with lots to do. Some of the things we did include the Portland Art Museum, Portland Japanese Garden, Lan Su Chinese Garden, Pittock Mansion and Powell's Books.

Portland is home to the Adidas headquarters which we drove by often since our Airbnb was near here. This is the Adidas Eve Bridge at the headquarters.

Tulip Festival

There is an amazing tulip farm located 40 minutes south of Portland called the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. If you go when the Tulips are in bloom, the vivid colors of the tulips is an incredible experience.

The Airbnb

Our Airbnb in Portland was one of our favorite Airbnbs we've ever stayed in. It was pretty small, only a little bigger than the size of a storage container, but the Japanese style of the architecture was beautiful and it felt very modern and cozy.
