Boston, Salem, Plymouth and Harvard

Boston was one of our favorite big cities that we’ve been to. As one of the oldest cities in the US, it’s rich in historical sites and beautiful architecture.

We stayed here for one week in a basement Airbnb in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Boston is incredibly busy and parking is difficult, but it was fairly walkable and we had a lot of fun.

While here, we also made visits to Salem, Plymouth, Harvard and MIT.

Boston

The main things we did in Boston was the Freedom Trail (a guided tour through some of the most historical Boston locations), the Boston Tea Party Museum, the Paul Revere House, the Boston Library, the Granary Burying Ground, and a Red Sox game.

Plymouth

The landing spot of the first pilgrim’s Mayflower, there now sits a replica of the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock, along with other museums.

Salem

Salem is the town where the infamous Salem Witch Trials occurred. We found it really interesting to tour around all the museums and learn about the history. We also went on a walking tour at night with an informative tour guide which we really enjoyed.

We did a walking tour around Harvard and really enjoyed feeling the Harvard spirit. We also went to the MIT Museum and we were amazed at the innovations in technology coming out of MIT.
