Asheville is located at the base of the ease side of the Great Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains. There’s tons of amazing hiking around and the scenery is incredible. The city itself is also known for being a haven for hippies and artists.
We loved our Airbnb that was a cute historic house near downtown Asheville. Most days after work we would walk into the city and go to the many museums or restaurants.

While here, Trevor knocked out 5 highpoints on his quest to summit the tallest highpoint in each state. These were South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia and North Carolina.
Chimney Rock State Park is a cool state park featuring... you guessed it, a chimney shaped rock. There is an elevator inside the rock that you can ride to the top. The views at the top are really amazing and there are a lot of other fun hikes to do in the park as well.
We loved the city of Asheville, it's big enough that the downtown area feels lively and substantial but small enough to not feel like a big city. There's also a heavy emphasis on art throughout the city. We loved our Airbnb which was located in a beautiful, historic neighborhood. The owners of the Airbnb actually own a comedy tour company that we went on which was so amazing and hysterical.
